About Us

We appreciate your support of Main Event Fitness & Nutrition (MEF) and look forward to providing the information, products and services you need to make your wellness quest successful. As a practical matter, we will obtain certain information from you at the time you become a member, and at such future times as may be necessary, to assist us in effectively managing our relationship with you. Of course, we know that your privacy is important to you, and we will implement reasonable precautions to protect sensitive information entrusted to us. The policy detailed below explains in plain language how we will handle information obtained from you. If you have any questions or comments about any part of the policy, please e-mail our Executive Vice-president.

Information We Gather
When you complete an enrollment form for your Main Event Fitness & Nutrition (MEF) membership, you will provide to us certain personal information such as name, address, and other contact particulars such as telephone numbers, e-mail address, an emergency contact name and how s/he can be contacted if necessary, your driver’s license number and social security number (in cases where MEF is asked to extend credit to you…as in a monthly billing arrangement) as well as your employer’s name (if applicable).

At enrollment, we will also make a digital photo of you for posting in your member profile record that is maintained on our club management system’s secure server. We will also make a digital finger scan for use in our check-in system; this scan is not a fingerprint, but rather a capture of reference points taken from the finger to create an algorithm which cannot be converted to an image. As you check-in, our biometric scanner, referencing the enrollment scan that resides safely on our secure server, will authorize each access to the Club when your new scan is validated.

You may take advantage of certain member services that require the documentation, on a form showing your name, of additional personal information such as height, weight, postural measurements and photographs, eating habits, lifestyle and health issues, physical limitations and other details needed for MEF associates to properly advise, train, or plan for your wellness program. All of this information, when provided, will have been obtained directly from you and therefore will have come into our possession by your willful participation. This information is retained in a locked, restricted access paper file on premises or in a protected electronic file, in the case of photographs.

You may provide us with certain banking or credit card information for use in paying for your membership as well as for the purchase of various products and services available through MEF. When a transaction is processed, a third party processor manages the sale electronically and does not retain the particulars upon completion of the transaction other than to show that the transaction actually occurred and when. MEF keeps your information safe in both locked, restricted access paper files on premises as well as in the electronic member profile held on our secure management system server.

You may also buy health products and accessories from our online store. In each instance, we will need to capture information about you, what you are purchasing, where you send it, and the credit card account used to make the actual purchase. The information will become part of the purchasing history record maintained for each transaction and will be stored for future reference. Each sale will become part of the periodic reporting done for internal accounting, planning and for any compliance issue applicable to our transactions, e.g. creating a basis for tax calculations.

When you communicate with us, whether it be electronically or by paper document, we will have a record of certain personally identifiable information all of which is necessary for us to use in responding. If you write in our blog, you may be personally identifiable by use of your name or other contact particulars included with your posts; we can offer no protection for that personal information provided by you to the electronic world at-large, so if you do not want to be identified, use extreme caution in what you post, including your name (or alias), your address, or company association.

For website management purposes, we may accumulate certain statistical information about your visits to our website, taking note of the computer requesting access to website pages, which pages are accessed in each visit, the computer’s browser and operating system. We do not associate the gathered information with a particular person.

Cookies
We may use "cookies," stored on your computer with bits of information sent there by MEF, to be read by MEF as you browse the website content. This information helps us to keep the site fresh, relevant and helpful for all users. And in cases where you use the online store, “cookies” are helpful in remembering you from visit-to-visit.

How We Use That Information
As we acknowledged above, we know you are sensitive about your personal information. Please be assured that we do not rent, sell, transfer or otherwise disclose your personally identifiable information to any third party, except as already described above or in ways mentioned in the following paragraphs.

If you use our online store, or if you make a purchase on premises with instructions to drop-ship, we may have to disclose personally identifiable information to third party fulfillment company or product supplier. We regularly use the services of other companies to help us help you, for example delivering requested shipments, providing certain customer services, processing credit card payments, hosting our website or our blogs, or providing an online registry for lifestyle and dietary plans. We will likely have to share some personally identifiable information about you to these companies, but only the information actually needed to complete the assignment for which the company was retained.

If we are subpoenaed to provide personally identifiable information to a legal jurisdiction, we will do so, but first, if permissible under the law, will attempt to contact you via the e-mail address which you have given to us at enrollment or as updated at your request, to inform you of our intent to comply with the provisions of the subpoena.

MEF may transfer any information, including any personally identifiable information, in connection with a sale of all or most of the assets of the company, or in the instance that a management company is retained to operate the business.

Changing Your Information
You may update your personal information, including contact details, at anytime after check-in at MEF. If your e-mail address changes, please be sure to update your personal record; ask for assistance when you check-in to keep your contact information current.

Data Security
Your personal information in the MEF computer and internet-based management systems is encrypted and password protected, accessible only by the authorized MEF employees and contractors. And your paper record, to the extent that it exists, is kept in a locked office accessible only by a limited number of MEF employees. Abuse of access privileges by these authorized persons that results in misuse of your personal information is grounds for severe disciplinary action, including termination.

We will make our best effort in all instances to protect your personal information. But should a breach occur, we will make an effort as quickly as practical to notify you by e-mail that the breach has been identified. Be certain that your current e-mail address is in your record at all times.

Policy Changes
If circumstances or laws require that we change this policy in ant significant way, we will notify you by e-mail 30-days before the change is implemented.
